October 12, 2015 – Girls in the seventh grade can sample career possibilities in STEM fields in a free one-day event that includes hands-on exercises Saturday, November 7, at Front Range Community College.
The event is called “Girls Can! You Could be Wired for This!”
The seventh grader and an accompanying adult will have an opportunity to see what careers would await them in Automotive Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Criminal Justice, Manufacturing and Energy Technology, and Welding Technology – all STEM programs. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. FRCC has female faculty and instructors in each career area, and male and female students in the programs will be serving as mentors during the day.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FRCC’s Larimer Campus, Harmony Road and Shields Street. Lunch will be provided.
