November 15, 2016 – Atmospheric & Space Technology Research Associates (ASTRA) has been named a Colorado Company to Watch. Colorado Companies to Watch honors second stage companies that develop valuable products and services, create quality jobs, enrich communities, and create new industries throughout Colorado.

Founded in 2005, ASTRA has become a system design and technology development company. ASTRA is a leader in the “New Space” small satellite revolution specializing in miniaturized sensors, and designing new uses and ways to apply existing sensors for the oil & gas and agriculture industries. ASTRA also leverages its scientific and engineering expertise to develop unique solutions in HF radar and radio, GPS systems, satellite remote sensing, CubeSats / Smallsats and Lidar.

Astra founder and CEO Geoff Crowley said, “We are greatly honored to be recognized as a CCTW winner impacting economic growth locally here in Colorado. ASTRA will continue to leverage our unique technology development capabilities and fundamental science knowledge to generate new small satellite (“Smallsat”) solutions for data hungry industries.”

Colorado Companies to Watch works to recognize the driving economic forces in the state by focusing not merely on growth, but on the true impact and influence of an organization. By focusing on second stage companies across the state, the program offers distinct insight into the state’s economic landscape and recognizes organizations often overlooked for the critical impact they have in their industries, communities and regions, as well as our state as a whole.

“We are pleased to recognize ASTRA for their outstanding contribution in fueling the economic fire of Colorado. Thank you ASTRA,” said Sean Nohavec, Colorado Companies to Watch Board Chairman.
