September 18, 2017 – To commence the new academic year, the space minor program will be hosting an event Monday, September 18, featuring Scholar in Residence Rick Hieb and a free show at Fiske Planetarium.
Hieb, who recently joined the University of Colorado Aerospace Graduate Program as Scholar in Residence, is a CU Boulder alumnus and has flown on three shuttle missions and participated in several spacewalks. At the September 18 event, he’ll share how he found his pathway to space.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and pizza will be provided.
The Grand Challenge space minor has been working with faculty across campus to create new space-related courses, offering undergraduate students in the program a wide range of courses from which to choose. The program is also bringing in industry leaders to discuss what they are working on and to network with students—just some of the great things to come for space minor students.
