Space Foundation Hosts International Student Art Contest

Colorado Springs, Colorado. August 15, 2014 – Students from around the world, ages 3 to 18 years, are invited to enter the Space Foundation’s fifth annual International Student Art Contest.

Children may draw, paint or create a digital image of their idea of the view looking into space from a spaceship for the contest theme “The View From My Spaceship.”

The deadline to submit entries is Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, and artwork must be submitted online by the student’s teacher. Homeschool students are also invited to participate.

Prizes will be awarded by age category and the winners notified in early 2014. For the 2014 contest, more than 7,100 entries representing 54 countries, including 43 U.S. states and two U.S. territories, were received.

The Space Foundation will award a total of 25 prizes to 24 winners — first, second and third place for each age category, and a Space Foundation Achievement Award for the overall top entry.

Winning artwork will be displayed at the Space Foundation World Headquarters and Discovery Center, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. All winners receive international exposure.

The Space Foundation partners with Artsonia.com to receive all artwork entries. Artsonia is free to use, and teachers may submit student art entries into the contest without joining Artsonia. To learn more, review details or submit artwork, go to http://bit.ly/150HQNv.
