December 15, 2014 – On Wednesday, December 17, Martin Pugh will give a 90-minute public lecture on astrophotography and how he captures the amazing images of galaxies, star clusters, nebula, and objects in our own solar system. The lecture begins at 1:30 p.m. and is part of the Launch Lecture Series at the Space Foundation’s Discovery Center in Colorado Springs.
Pugh is a member of the Royal Australian Navy and Astrophotographer. He won the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Award, presented by the UK’s Royal Observatory in Greenwich, in 2009 ad 2012. Pugh’s photography has been featured in numerous publications and in the 2014 film Interstellar.
The Launch Lecture Series is held on the third Wednesday of every month and features space experts, astronauts and other space industry professionals who share their experiences exploring, building and supporting space programs. The Launch Lecture Series includes sit down lectures, guided Discovery Center tours, live presentations and special virtual lectures with presenters from around the world.
