July 7, 2016 – Mark Sirangelo of Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) will testify at a Congressional subcommittee hearing titled, “NASA at a Crossroads: Reasserting American Leadership in Space Exploration.” The meeting will be convened by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), chairman of the Subcommittee on Space, Science, and Competitiveness on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 2:30 p.m.
The hearing will focus on the importance of ensuring consistency in policy to best leverage investments made in human space exploration. The hearing will also explore questions facing the agency related to the upcoming presidential transition.
Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Space Systems business area based in Louisville, Colorado, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, space vehicles, rocket motors and spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. Government, commercial customers, and the international market. SNC’s Space Systems has more than 25 years of space heritage and has participated in more than 450 successful space missions through the delivery of 4,000+ systems, subsystems and components. During its history, SNC’s Space Systems has concluded more than 70 programs for NASA and more than 50 other clients.
SNC was recently selected to provide cargo delivery, return and disposal services for the International Space Station (ISS) under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services 2 (CRS2) and has entered talks with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) to host payloads from member countries on the Dream Chaser spacecraft.
