May 30, 2016 – Geomagnetic storming is possible next weekend. A returning coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS) is likely to rotate into an Earth-influential position beginning around June 4.

This recurrent CH HSS was responsible for the May 8 (Mother’s Day) storming, when over 24 hours of G1 (Minor) to G3 (Strong) storming occurred.

Forecasters will continue to analyze this feature and determine if Watch conditions are warranted as it rotates into better view.
