August 3, 2015 – Beginning August 6, Fiske Planetarium in Boulder, Colorado, is hosting the Fiske Fulldome Film Festival, which will include a body of films about Earth and Space Sciences. The public showcase will be held August 6–20.

International planetariums, industry professionals and the general public will convene at Fiske to explore and celebrate the cutting edge of fulldome digital imagery. Shows will focus on the following categories: Earth and Space Sciences, 2D/3D Animation, Experimental Motion Graphics, Landscape Panorama/Photography, and Films/Videography.

Fiske is also hosting a three-day film festival workshop for private photographers, filmmakers and fulldome production companies.

“Fulldome” refers to content that is designed to envelop the audience 180 degrees when projected on a dome, most commonly found in planetariums. Fiske Planetarium’s 65-foot diameter dome, along with an 8K SkyScan projection system, lets audiences enjoy the most cutting-edge content in an immersive environment.
