April 18, 2016 – Denver International Airport’s Art and Culture Program presents a new exhibit featuring dozens of remarkable satellite images of iconic Colorado locations.
“The Centennial State from Space” was produced by DigitalGlobe of Westminster, Colorado. The series of high-resolution satellite images were taken from five different satellites positioned more than 400 miles above the Earth.
Several iconic Colorado locations – including Coors Field, the Air Force Academy, agricultural fields in Monte Vista and more – can be seen at the Y-Juncture Gallery, located just beyond the A-bridge security checkpoint along the pedestrian walkway. The gallery will be in place through September.
The exhibit is on loan from Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum and illustrates the technological capabilities of DigitalGlobe, which produces Earth imagery and information about our changing planet.
