August 6, 2015 – CU-Boulder AeroSpace Ventures invites you to attend the 3rd Annual AeroSpace Ventures Day on Wednesday, September 30, at the University of Colorado Boulder campus.

AeroSpace Ventures Day is an aerospace industry outreach event designed to bring together companies and faculty researchers in a collaborative environment to stimulate conversations and opportunities for the aerospace industry.

CU-Boulder AeroSpace Ventures is a collaboration among aerospace-related departments, institutes, centers, government laboratories and industry partners to create knowledge and develop new technologies specifically focusing on unmanned and autonomous aircraft, small satellites and Earth and space sensors.

“The AeroSpace Ventures program at CU-Boulder provides an opportunity to collaborate with CU’s extensive resources and experience in research and development to advance our technologies and have access to the next generation of aerospace professionals.” said Frank Backes, CEO of Braxton Technologies.

The event has two parts, an Innovation Session in the morning where industry executives have the opportunity to learn about the cutting edge aerospace-related research happening at CU-Boulder. Gregg Burgess, Vice President Technology, Sierra Nevada Corporation Space Systems will be the keynote speaker. The second part of the event is an Aerospace Career Fair where companies and students can make valuable connections.

“Currently, our major source of talent is CU-Boulder. This pipeline is dependent on the quality of education and its intersection with industry. Thus, it’s in our best interest to support [the educational experience of] the CU-Boulder community.” said Steve Jolly, Chief Engineer for the GOES-R (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites) at Lockheed Martin.

Previously, AeroSpace Ventures Day had representatives from over 20 aerospace companies interact with researchers and scientists and over 300 students attend the career fair.
