February 25, 2015 – The Colorado Springs Science Center will hold its 3rd annual Yuri’s Space Party celebration on April 10, 2015. In addition to updates on the progress of the CS Science Center plans, you’ll experience a unique new science show, as well as hands-on science fun including robotics and stargazing. Food and drink are also included in the ticket price.
Yuri’s Night is an international celebration of humanity’s achievements in space, with hundreds of parties and events held around the world each April. Yuri’s Night is named for the first human to launch into space, Yuri Gagarin, who flew the Vostok 1 spaceship on April 12, 1961. Yuri’s Night is often called the World Space Party.
The goal of Yuri’s Night is to increase public interest in space exploration and to inspire a new generation of explorers.
The Colorado Springs Science Center will host a Math and Science Magic Show by Eddie Goldstein, interactive science exhibits, a costume contest, music, dancing and more.
