Colorado Solutions Summit Designed To Support Colorado-Based Startups

August 22, 2017 – The Colorado Solutions Summit (COSS) is a 3-day bootcamp designed to support Colorado-based startups through curated mentoring teams and workshops. Hosted in partnership with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Project X-ITE at the University of Denver created the COSS as a way to support Colorado-based companies that are working to fulfill the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Colorado Solutions Summit will kick off on October 26 at a reception at the University of Denver, featuring Megan Smith, the former US Chief Technology Officer under President Obama. In 2015, Ms. Smith, in partnership with the UN Foundation and the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Services launched the UN Solutions Summit to highlight global entrepreneurs working on the SDGs.

“We are thrilled to host the Colorado Solutions Summit because we understand the power of collaboration and new perspectives,” says Nina Sharma, Co-Director of Project X-ITE at the University of Denver. “Creating a space where entrepreneurs can innovate and brainstorm with a diverse group of thinkers and doers is paramount to their ability to succeed and scale.”

The COSS was modeled after Flight to Denver, a Project X-ITE bootcamp that drew from the original Solutions Summit to support global entrepreneurs. The COSS will leverage Colorado’s collaborative spirit to support burgeoning entrepreneurs and their startups. The COSS will help accelerate companies attracting mentors from the state’s innovation ecosystem who are willing to roll up their sleeves, share their experiences, and help entrepreneurs from across the state tackle their biggest business challenges.

“We are excited to partner with Project X-ITE to support entrepreneurs through this unique bootcamp,” says Anna Ewing, COO of OEDIT. “We have talented entrepreneurs who hail from all corners of Colorado, and this summit gives them the opportunity to meet, collaborate, and help each other solve problems in ways they couldn’t on their own.”

The Colorado Solutions Summit will kick off on Thursday, October 26. Full-day working sessions will take place on October 27 and 28. A final pitch event will take place on October 29. For more information, please visit www.coloradosolutionssummit.org.
