January 26, 2019 – The Denver Museum of Nature & Science, along with CBS4, will be hosting the fifth annual Girls & Science event on Saturday, March 2. This one-day event is designed for girls and their families to explore diverse careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) by participating in activities with female scientists. Women in STEAM professions will be on hand to talk about what they do, who they are, and what inspires them.
2019 Girls & Science will feature “Stories with Scientists”, a series of short presentations by women in STEAM fields. The presentations will take place in the Museum’s Science Atrium every half hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Career mentors presenting the “Stories with Scientists” will visit one-on-one with guests through the remainder of the day in the Mentor Meet-Up room.
Additional activities with women STEAM mentors will be located throughout the museum, including in Space Odyssey, Expedition Health, and the Prehistoric Journey exhibitions.
Participants will learn how science can be used in surprising ways and participate in activities they may not expect in a science career.
All tickets to the event include museum admission; member admission is free.
