August 10, 2015 – The Rocky Mountain Airshow is an annual event at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport that is fun for the whole family. The gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 14 and everything finishes on Sunday, August 16.

The Airshow is attended by up to 400 aircraft from around the country. During the three-day event, the FAA and industry leaders present over 20 educational and safety forums that help spark a new interest in learning and aviation. Workshops available for adults are in areas such as welding, sheet metal and riveting techniques; and there are building workshops for youth, such as ESTES model rocketry, balsa aircraft, rib building, etc.

On the grounds are also exhibitors of technology, safety, construction and special interests. The kids even have an Adventure Zone they can explore. Various food vendors will be onsite providing a wide range of meals and sundries. And, of course, one of the highlights for almost everyone who attends is the daily air show. This year, among the performers are the Rocky Mountain Aero Squadron, the Rocky Mountain Renegades, team aerobatics, a USAF F-16 Viper demonstration and much more.

United Launch Alliance will be conducting a Friday night rocket launch and will launch Stars and Stripes on Saturday.
